March/April 2004 Experimental Temperature Forecast Verification

The two month daily temperature forecast verification has taken on a new approach for the March/April 2004 edition. For this and all future forecasts a verification of the forecasted five day running mean will be made instead of the individual days' mean temperature.

For the western region, the stations of Pittsburgh and Erie were averaged for the verification data.

 

 

For the central region, the stations of Williamsport and Harrisburg were averaged for the verification data.

 

 

For the eastern region, the stations of Philadelphia and Scranton were averaged for the verification data.
